I hope you’re all doing well! South India is being liked by many of us for various reasons; be it their culture, traditions, jewellery, dance, music, etc. One of the reasons for which I am in love with South India is their food!(So yummy! Isn’t it?)
Another thing about South Indian food is that it is healthy as it is a combination of Cereals and Pulses put together and cooked in different ways then served with Dals in the form of Sambars or chutneys. Duh!, there is so much of protien coming in!
So today I would be blogging about my favourite South Indian joint – Mani’s Lunch Home, Matunga. Now, to all those in Matunga, Mani’s is not just an eatery but an essential without which a Sunday doesn’t look like a Sunday! Hence, to all those who are their regular patrons, this is for you and to all those who haven’t been there, here I give you reasons to visit them soon!
Located in Matunga east, Mani’s Lunch Home is an old joint, definitely with no attractive ambience and is a place which is always crowded but the food served here compensates for all this!
My favourites from Mani’s –
Sheera-Upma Mix – I have never eaten this combo together except at Mani’s. And you have to know that this is surreal. Sheera and Upma both taste amazing individually and when put together, it is like a cherry on the cake! And to relish this you better go early morning.
Medu Wada Sambar – They make the yummiest Medu Wadas; very crispy, perfect round and correct golden-brown in colour. Another best part about this is that you get unlimited servings of Sambar which is a perfect blend of South-Indian flavours that would lit your mood!
Rava Dosa – This is my most favourite and a must order every time I visit them. Very Crispy with the perfect net! You have to taste this once you are here.
Neer Dosa – The last but not the least comes the Neer Dosa, so white and so soft. You get this only on Thursdays and Saturdays!
So these 4 have always topped my orders at Mani’s. The other Dosas are yummy too! I must say that I have been visiting them for over a decade now and the taste hasn’t changed and so said my Father! Also, there are no pictures because the food is so tempting that I slurped it as soon as it was served. So, you better go, taste the food and click the pictures by yourself and don’t forget to tag ‘Flavourous Voyage’.
Keep munching and have a happy weekend!
